Is a medium sized Eucalypt tree that grows within the montane woodlands of NSW. The new growth of the leaves are an attractive purple in colour, becoming grey once they mature. Due to the presence of essential oil within the leaf, a strong berry flavor and aroma is released once crushed. The leaf is commercially harvested for the perfumery industry and is now finding its way into desserts and jams. It is also used to form tea blends with other native spices.
